CNR The new video from "Weird Al" Yankovic is the second animated video from him this summer, following quickly on from "Skipper Dan"
This is the second time Weird Al has knocked on the door of the Jib Jab team and once again they have come up with something that works well with Al's music. Jib Jab team members provide most of the faces for this pastiche of The White Stripes style, a Yankovic original based around upstaging the current net-meme celebrating the omnipotence of Chuck Norris, with a new superhero, the late actor Charles Nelson Reilly, a campy minor celebrity game show stalwart and tv personality who sadly passed away in 2007 but whom, I feel sure, would have been very excited at being celebrated in such a manner by Weird Al!
Interspersing the hilarious storytelling clips with White Stripes-alike visual imagery, in which Al's giant Jack White head appears above the body of someone else playing guitar works very well. It is not clear if that person was long time band member Jim West, but this seems unlikely. However, the Meg White character playing drums is certainly a female Jib Jab staff member with the hilariously bewigged head of Al's drummer, Jon Bermuda Schwartz superimposed on her shoulders. Watch this video. Its VERY FUNNY.
On Jib Jab's site, subscribers are invited to create and download versions with their own submitted photos inserted, which I am guessing is to help defray the cost; Al being known to be .. umm.. somewhat frugal of nature 'n' all! :D The video misses out one verse of the song so to get the full experience, you'll need the mp3 as well
