ok, let´s play it

This was the first time I saw Bruce. Jon Landau had a great idea to let people just look at him! The video was a perfect way of doing that, without forcing people to look at a million different interpretive images like videos do today. I love the song, realizing it's not as deep as his others, but so many times, we miss out on his smile and his warmth when he gets into the serious subjects. Being a girl, I admit it - I just want to have fun!

However, as a result of seeing this video back in the 80's, I now have just about all of the songs Bruce has ever written and know them all by heart. Many are so multi-leveled and resonant and haunting that you can't help but know that a rare songwriter and performer is with us, one who has perfectly captured the pain many of us have experienced in his words and music.

again, not sure about the disco influence on this era of Bruce's music. His earlier and later stuff was grittier and more soulful.
