I wouldn't say that there is anything earth shattering about the sound here, but traditional sound is traditional sound for a reason: We like it. The lyrics are actually an improvement to many current artists, and I've been listening to this CD nonstop since I bought it a few weeks ago.
If you like the sounds of Coldplay, Finger Eleven, and at times, Daughtry, I'd definitely recommend this CD.
Crash Parallel is one of those bands that only comes around once in a while and it doesn't seem like they will be easily forgotten. Their first major-record-label release 'World We Know'(May 2008) is an eleven track album that's filled with melody and emotion with a gentle rock influence.
The bands musical influences, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, David Gray, and Coldplay, can definitely be heard on this album. Yet, the band put its own spin on each song making it completely original.
The album talks about dealing with different situations in the 'world we know' and how we can change those situations for the better. The first single 'World We Know', titled same as the album, talks about these situations with an environmental focus. The band got recognition at this years Earth Day 2008 for this exact reason.
Crash Parallel is doing a cross-country tour this year supporting their new album, so check them out!!!
